Frank Agovino

Frank AgovinoFrank C. Agovino, has been a Springfield, Pennsylvania resident for over 25 years. Born and raised in the Southwest section of Philadelphia, he is a graduate of West Catholic High School, class of 1987. Agovino attained his Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Marketing from Saint Joseph’s University in 1992 and his Master’s Degree (M.S.) in 2011 from Cabrini College in Organizational Leadership.

Agovino is active in his community currently serving his third term as an elected School Board Director for the Springfield School District. In those 12 years Agovino has served as President twice, Vice President and now Treasurer. Agovino currently is Chairman of both the Finance and Communication Committees as well as the District’s Legislative Liaison. Over the last decade the District has seen stellar growth in academics, athletics and the arts, achieving several accolades including Springfield High School receiving a number one ranking in the State of Pennsylvania’s Performance Profile in 2016 and 2017.

Agovino is also a Board Director for the YMCA of Eastern Delaware County and a member of the Facilities Committee. Additionally, Agovino served as Board Director for the Delaware County Intermediate Unit (2011-2015) as well as a Board Director for the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce (2012-2016).

Professionally, Agovino has spent most of his life in educational and entrepreneurial pursuits. Agovino has been employed by Delaware County Community College since 2008, serving the Institution as Director of the Small Business Center and currently as Director in the Workforce Development and Community Education Division. As a Director in Workforce Development Agovino is responsible for maintaining strong relationships with companies in Delaware and Chester Counties while providing training in technical and essential skills areas. Agovino also oversees the College’s Pennsylvania Wednet, Program which provides funding for business training.

Agovino is also the founder of DiFabio’s 9th Street Catering, Inc. a Delaware County based family-owned business. DiFabio’s is an award winning foodservice company which specializes in catering, event planning, as well as being a popular restaurant, tap room and market located in Media, Pennsylvania. (DiFabio’s Market & Tap, 1243 N. Providence Road) The Company currently employs over 60 people in various areas. DiFabio’s has been awarded Best of Main Line & Western Suburbs, Delaware County Times Best of Delaware County, and Best of Delaware County Press Papers to name a few.

In 2017, Agovino opened the Media Bean Company, a coffee shop and eatery which partners with New Avenue Foundation a 501(c)(3), a non-profit whose mission is to make the lives of the disabled happier and more meaningful through employment. The employment program with the New Avenue Foundation and the Media Bean Company assists people with autism and other disabilities find valuable jobs while connecting socially with customers and fellow workers.

Frank Agovino is married to Laura (Marple H.S. graduate, 1989) and they have a sixteen year old daughter, Alexa, and a puggle named Ginger.
