Why give to New Avenue Foundation? Great question and we hope we have an even better answer for you!
New Avenue Foundation was formed in 2013 by two dads who were determined to create more innovative options to socializing, employment, and housing for their adult daughters with disabilities. Today, New Avenue Foundation is proud to share its achievements thus far, as its goals for the near and more distant future.
- Our Community Cup Coffeehouse at Tree of Life Church, Springfield, with dinner and live music every Friday night – Although begun to provide a safe, welcoming environment for individuals with disabilities to enjoy a social Friday evening, our coffeehouse is open to all who wish to share a musically-inspired Friday night!
- Open Mic/Karaoke at Temple Lutheran Church, Havertown, the first two Mondays of each month, with coffee, snacks, comradery, singing, and sometimes a bit of dancing thrown in!
- Our Community Cup Coffee (Currently, orders are fulfilled by Furnace Hills Coffee until our micro-roasting facility is up and operational.) Coffee is sold at area flea markets, music festivals, and local businesses. Our Community Cup Coffee will employ adults with disabilities, giving them a fair wage for quality workmanship. Our goal is to provide a superior product while enabling individuals to feel a sense of pride in their work as the community experiences the value of our workforce.
- Housing Alternatives, navigated by one of our co-founder dads who is in the process of creating “forever homes” for adults with disabilities.
